Week 9 (Narwhal study& art)
This week in Room 10 we have been thinking hard about our narwhal questions. We started with what we already knew about narwhals and then asked questions about what we wanted to find out. This is one of our facts: a narwhals horn(tusk)is actually its two front teeth curled around making a (unicorn horn) coming out of a hole above its upper lip. They can grow up to about 6 meters long!
P.S our name art is finished and up "It looks fantastic"!

Paper Batik Art
Today in Room 10 we have been finishing our name art and we have finally scrunched it up three times into tiny balls and slowly had to open it out again. We had to repeat this three times. Our next step is to paint black dye over it to give it a paper 'batik' look. Mrs Wood is going to mount our art onto black paper. It's going to look really cool!

Paper Batik
Today in Room 10 we have Mrs Godfrey, with her we have been finishing off our similes we made up ourselves and drew pictures to illustrate them. For writing we have designed our own magical sneakers and made a story about how they work and what happens when you put them on. In art we published our names in pencil and outlined them in vivid. We then coloured the whole picture in wax crayon. We could choose any colour we wanted to use except for black, navy blue or brown.

Birchwood Bloggers
Today Jordan & Katie from Room 10 with other bloggers have been learning to put photos onto our blog that we post. And this is what we have done!
Cycle Safety
Cycle Safety
Two weeks ago on Wednesday Room 10 did cycle safety with Constable Garland.
First we did an obstacle course. There were small cones that we had to go around then we had to go over the sea~saw, it was really hard to do. After that we had to go through the garage which had really big cones and small cones. The corners were really hard because sometimes you would fall off your bike, it was very small to go through. Then there was a HUGE bump you had to go over! Once you had finished the whole course you had to go all around the field on your bike and do it all again!
After morning tea we did gear changing and braking on our bikes and some of us fell over our handle bars. After that we had to put out one hand to show where we were going at the intersection.
At the end of the day lots of us were so worn out and really tired!
Rugby Skills
RUGBY SKILLS
In Room 10 on the 14th of March we had rugby skills with Andrew Goodman who plays in the Tasman Makos! We learnt how to grubber and punt, they are all types of kicks. Then we played a game of Rippa Rugby with three teams Crusaders, Highlanders and Chiefs.
After that our lesson was over. I hope can do some more skills next time!
