Airport Walk

Here are some photos from our airport walk when we looked at the weather measuring device that Mr Mathieson checks every day. This measures the sunshine hours in Nelson.

Science Extravaganza

On Tuesday we were treated to an hour of crazy science experiments. It was so much fun.

Barnicoat Tramp

What a fabulous day out for the syndicate  last term. A steady hike up the hill to reach the top and timed so well to see the paragliders taking off.

The Weather Man

Yesterday Mr Mathieson, our  very own Nelson weather man, visited Room 10 and spoke to us about the weather. It was really interesting. We learnt about the types of clouds, how to read a weather map, how the weather information for Nelson is collected and how rain, hail and cyclones are formed.

On Tuesday next week, we are going to the Nelson Provincial Museum to learn about the Canterbury Quakes.

Room 10 Picture Books

Term 2

On Thursdays with Mrs Shepard, we have been working on creating picture books to end our focus on narratives. We have written these for junior children and we are going share them next week.
Here are a few pictures of some of the covers. We will share some of the stories later.
