Room 10 Newsletter Number 1 2014
Dear Parents / Caregivers
Welcome to the start of the 2014 school year. I
trust you have had a great holiday with your children. Term 1 has now begun,
and for the Year 6 children, their last year of primary schooling.
Term One events are as follows…
Week 1 • Assembly

Week 2 • Meet the Teacher (Tuesday)
Aquatics (Thursday)
Week 3 • Aquatics (Thursday)
BOT BBQ
5.30-7.30pm (Friday)
Week 4 • Year
3–6 Progress and Achievement Testing begins
Aquatics (Thursday)
Swimming Sports (Friday)
Week 6 • Interschool
Swimming Sports (Tuesday 11 March)
Week 10 • Principal’s Challenge (Friday)
Week 11 • Tabloids (Thursday)
• Homework will start in Week 3.
• Rebekah Shepard will be working in Room 10 on Thursdays to cover
my senior release days.
• Swimming will be on wet or fine unless the
weather is really miserable.
• The Birchwood School generative topic for 2014
will be focused around the theme ‘RESPECT – The Birchwood Way’.
(Respect - Give it to Get it/Accept and Respect
– we are all different)
I am looking forward to teaching your child this
year, and to meeting you all at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening. If you are
unable to make this meeting, I will be sending home a follow-up newsletter with
this information on it.
