Swimming lessons at ASB. GREAT FUN!
What is Niko up too?!
Brayden and Jet-Li, listening carefully to their instructor. What wonderful swimmers you are.
Treading water for 5 mins - most of the year 5/6 students managed this easily!
The students favourite after lesson activity. Great fun!
How many students can we fit on the inflatable toy?
Waiting for the students to get changed is fun too!

Energiser!!
Each day we do an energiser activity. Energisers are interactive and co-operative activities that light up a group and bring people together. They help get a group acquainted, spark a discussion, change the pace, or bring closure to a group activity. Everyone can play, rules are simple, and the emphasis is on spontaneity, community-building, and most of all, FUN.
Here are some photos of today's energiser - a great activity for encouraging co-operation.

Speeches
Well done to the students who remembered that this week we are sharing our speeches. We have listened to some very entertaining speeches so far. We need to work on slowing down and using expression.

Homework - Term 3 Week 5
This week for homework you need to practise your speeches.
Look at your audience The audience should feel that you are talking to them.
Speak up! You must speak loudly enough for everyone in the audience to hear you but, at the same time, there must be enough variation in the pitch of your voice to avoid monotony.
Speaking a little more slowly than you do in ordinary conversation also helps you to breathe more deeply and naturally. It will also make it easier for the audience to understand you.
Good posture will help you to look keen and alert, and give the audience the feeling that you are pleased to be speaking to them.
End on a strong note.
